Redwing?
Partial cover from a forthcoming comic






Issue #1 of Nightwing & Redwing Adventures. The text that's cut off says "Guest-Starring BATMAN!"

No idea when this is actually going to be out. I haven't been able to dig up any advanced buzz on it, but I also haven't been through all the message boards at dccomics.com or any of the fansites. Or, well, any of the message boards. Maybe somebody else keeps up on them, or would be willing to go have a look...

It looks like an animated series tie-in comic, but I haven't heard anything about them doing anything like this for TV, either; I thought the Dini/Timm/Burnett animatedverse era was pretty much over, with the exception of Justice League Unlimited (and maybe Static Shock, if they get a fifth season).


















Okay, I'm lying. It's never coming out, there are no plans to do anything like this over at DC (or if they are, this is a freaky coincidence of the highest order). I manipped the image together using parts of three different tie-in comic covers which actually do exist.

Not unlike the original Cherry Lips Tim I made for Te, this is a cover without a story to go with it (yet). Anyone and everyone besides Te are of course welcome to write fiction based on the cover, as well. I've just discovered that sometimes, if you make a picture of something you want Te to write about... she writes the story.

Sure, Te writes plenty of stories without anyone providing specific motivation -- but a little extra inspiration never hurts, hmm?

Yes, I am hoping for some Te-fic about Redwing. We'll see. I just hope she can maintain enough interest in Tim Drake. ::cough::

...No, that's Jimmy. Though there was also a Flamebird-of-legend that they based the costumes on.

Well, most of the time I don't feel like I need to manip comics and toon images, since DC provides us with canon art that's so crack-tastic. I guess my years of working as a graphic designer were good for something, though.

Heh heh heh. Does it look "less emotionally disturbed" compared to other scenarios Bat-canon has given us? My personal theory of what the backstory to "Redwing" would be might change your mind. But let's see whether Te wants to write it that way...

Torturing one's brothers is a noble and worthy cause, which I applaud. You ARE going to tell him before he makes an ass of himself asking round comics shops for it, though...?
